Hasthi Music, under the leadership of Manjula Munasinghe, is a professional music band in the UK, covering a huge variety of genres, languages and cultures.
The band marked its first performance in 2021 in the UK.
Hasthi provides entertainment at concerts, corporate events, dinner dances, sing-alongs, parties and weddings, delivering music that wins the hearts of guests.
The vibrant team of multi-talented musicians are guaranteed to deliver an outstanding experience to your events. The band personally tailor fits the song list, used for your event, as required to ensure that the entertainment fits everyone’s needs.
Hasthi rebranded their musical identity by composing original songs, starting with their first, “Api Hasthi.” A beautiful piece written by our dear friend, Denzil Nugegoda and musically put together by Manjula Munasinghe.

Manjula
Manjula “Manchu” Munasinghe (Keyboards)
Manjula is a well known individual in the music industry, with having played in the popular bands Sunshine in Sri Lanka and his own band here in the UK, “Sky High.” He has now taken his talent and expert leadership over to the band “Hasthi.”
Shanaka
Shanaka “Shana” Fernando (Lead Guitar)
Shanaka is the band comedian, never fails to make the rest of the band laugh! He has an unreal love for music and a very talented individual, shanaka also has experience playing in bands in Sri Lanka, not just as a guitarist but also as a drummer!
Shiran
Shiran “Wadu” Waduge (Bass)
Shiran is a very unique person, the amount of energy he puts into this band is unreal, without him nothing is possible. Shiran has also played in many bands in Sri Lanka and a couple here in the UK. Like the others Shiran can also play keyboards.
Chali
Chalitha “Chaliya” Dasun (Vocalist)
Chalitha, the former drummer of Hasthi has now taken on the new role of front man, as much of a good drummer, he belongs to entertain the crowd. Chalitha also shares experience performing and playing in Western bands in the UK, as a drummer, guitarist and keyboardist.
Jima
Chanaka “Jima ” Chandrasiri (Drums)
Chanaka is our newest addition to the band, an absolute beast on the drums. With experience playing in the popular bands Amuthu & Mr. Nilame in Sri Lanka. You will never get bored of watching him bounce sticks around the drums!
Rile
Rile Amendra – Drummer
Rile Amendra is the driving force behind the band’s rhythm and energy. With powerful grooves, sharp precision, and dynamic control, he brings every performance to life. His passion for drumming and strong sense of timing create a solid foundation for the band’s sound. Whether on stage or in the studio, Rile delivers intensity, creativity, and consistency.
Imal
Imal Dhanushka – Percussionist
Imal Dhanushka adds depth, colour, and texture to the band’s rhythm section through his expressive percussion style. Blending traditional and modern influences, he brings a unique rhythmic character to every performance. His versatility and musical sensitivity enhance the band’s dynamic range. Imal’s passion and precision help shape the band’s distinctive sound

Shammi Perera – Keyboardist/Synth
Shammi Perera brings melody, atmosphere, and sonic depth to the band through his dynamic keyboard and synth work. Blending rich harmonies with modern sound design, he creates immersive textures that elevate every performance. His versatility allows him to move seamlessly between subtle accompaniment and powerful lead lines. Shammi’s creativity and musical sensitivity play a key role in shaping the band’s signature sound.
